FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The following are answers to several frequently asked questions.  We also encourage you to visit our About Us page and read why The Pulse is the best choice for you and your child when it comes to quality instruction, curriculum, our facility, and customer service!

 

  • Q: When do classes start?

    A: Fall classes begin in September just after Labor Day – check the Calendar page for the exact day.  Classes run from September through May, with our annual recital directly following.  During the summer months we offer a 6-Week summer session and our popular 1-Day Dancer’s Edge Intensives.

     

  • Q: How do I get my child enrolled?

    A: If you already know which classes you would like to enroll your dancer in, simply print a registration packet or come visit us at the studio.  Completed packets may be faxed to (816) 222-0676, mailed to the studio, or placed through the mail slot in our front door.   A completed Registration Packet must be filled out and submitted with the first month’s tuition and registration fee prior to the first class.  Always feel free to call the studio at (816) 941-2278 for assistance in finding the right classes or for help getting started.

  • Q: How do I pay tuition?

    A: Tuition is processed through direct withdrawal from a debit or credit card account on the 3rd of each month (Sept-May).  Monthly tuition rates include a $5 discount for using autopay.  Customers have the option of not using autopay, but the discount does not apply, and tuition rates are $5 higher.  We offer sibling tuition discounts of 5% for the first sibling and 10% off for additional siblings.  Tuition rates can be found here.

  • Q: How do you communicate with parents?

    A: We communicate with our families through e-mail.  We know you are inundated with paperwork and fliers from school and other activities, so we try to be very efficient in our communications.  Please don’t hesitate to e-mail, call, or stop by the front desk with any questions.

  • Q: Where do I purchase dancewear and shoes?

    A: We sell many of the basics that dancers will need for class:  trunks, sports bras, tights, leotards, tap ties, bun covers, and dance bags.  We also have coupons at the front desk for several of the local dancewear stores that will carry a larger variety of styles and brands.   • Q: Do I get to watch my child in class each week?

    A: As part of our state of the art facility, we are proud to offer viewing windows and live feeds from the classrooms through our closed circuit monitoring.  Additionally, we have three Watch Weeks each season where parents are invited inside the classroom to observe regular class in progress and the excellent work being demonstrated by our faculty and your children!

  • Q: Will my child get to participate in a recital or other performance opportunities?

    A:Yes!  We have three wonderful programs at The Pulse – Recreational, Show Team, Competition Team – and all have the opportunity to participate in our spring recital!  Details on our recitals can be found here, and details on our Competition and Performance Company (CPC) can be found here.

  • Q: What happens when there is bad weather?  How will I know if class is canceled?

    A: When the studio closes for inclement weather, we will send an e-mail, place an announcement on our facebook page, and update the voice-mail.

  • Q: Is the studio closed for all the same holidays as our school?

    A: Our school calendar can be found here and in our lobby at all times.  Normal studio closings include Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Spring Break, and Memorial Day.
