Elaine Kimble-Peaks

Guest Choreographer

Elaine began dancing at age six under the instruction of choreographer, competitive judge and studio owner Kari Kohls-Bruch.  She continued dancing and competing for the next ten years receiving many scholarships and overall titles.  Elaine also earned starring roles in both dramatic plays and musical comedies in many regional theater companies. At age 18, she began teaching and choreographing across the country with National Dance Alliance where she worked with both high school and collegiate teams.  Elaine received her BFA in Dance with a minor in Film Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she studied under Paula Weber, MaryPat Henry, Sabrina Madison-Cannon, Jennifer Medina, DeeAnna Hiett, Ronald Tice, and Rodni Williams.  She has had the privilege of working with contemporary choreographers such as Robert Battle(Alvin Ailey), Joshua Beamish(MOVE: the company), Gary Abbott(Deeply Rooted), Frank Chavez(River North), and Troy Powell(Alvin Ailey).  Dance credits include Flux Dance Co, Seamless Dance Theatre, and Quixotic Fusion.  In 2014, Elaine was featured on So You Think You Can Dance Season 11.  As a choreographer, her work has been selected for local performances including Modern Night at the Folly and Kansas City Fringe Festival.  Her work has been awarded at many regional and national dance competitions.  The passion for expression and creativity that she instills has led her students to regional and national recognition. Elaine is in her fifth season as a core faculty member at The Pulse!
