Tara Glaus trained with such phenomenal teachers as Susan Quinn Williams and Mary Beth Cabana during her early years of training and attended high school at Idyllwild Arts Academy where she majored in Musical Theater having previously attended multiple dance summer programs dance there. Tara went on to receive her BA in Dance Performance, with a concentration in Ballet, as well as double majoring in Psychology at East Carolina University. In addition, Tara studied massage therapy and is a certified Yoga instructor from Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Her senior choreography piece was chosen for ACDFA 2011 and was also featured in the ‘Modern Night at The Folly 2011’ choreography showcase in Kansas City. Her works were recognized in The Lawrence Arts Festival 2012 and Troost Festival 2012 in Kansas City. She has danced professionally with The Smith Project Modern Dance Company in Kansas City for 2 years, as well as 2 years with Center Dance Ensemble in Phoenix, AZ, where she trained with Diane McNeal Hunt and Frances Cohen. While in Arizona she performed various roles including the role of ‘The Enchantress’ in the yearly production of Snow Queen. For the past three years, Tara has focused on her career as a mental health social worker while continuing to be passionate about dance. Her training and understanding of the mind and body have aided in making her the well-rounded educator she is today. Tara is thrilled to be back in the Kansas City area having previously taught with The Pulse during the 2012-2013 year. She is absolutely thrilled to be returning to The Pulse family!
