Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Lauren Winstead has been dancing since the age of four. At the age of seven, she began competing numerous dance styles and she won numerous regional and national dance titles. In 2006, she graduated high school and began studying ballet & modern at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Lauren joined the contemporary dance company Quixotic in 2011 where she added aerial dance into her training only weeks after joining the company. For the next 5 years, Lauren both performed and choreographed for Quixotic in many festivals and venues both throughout the United States and internationally. In 2016 Lauren gave birth to her beautiful baby girl Aurora. Since then, she has continued to perform and choreograph for Quixotic as well as becoming more involved behind the scenes including stage managing & directing. Lauren joined The Pulse faculty in 2017 and quickly became an integral part of the team! Lauren continues to work professionally with Quixotic, most recently choreographing their show Sensatia at Crown Center and setting a brand new show aboard Celebrity Cruise Line! The Pulse students love Lauren’s classes for her stern yet spunky personality that gives her classroom both discipline and laugher in an environment that’s truly unique. Lauren is thrilled to be starting her 4th season with The Pulse!
